Welcome to the Newbury NH Town Website

The small picturesque town of Newbury is located in Merrimack County and is home to about 2,100 residents. Newbury is home to part of Lake Sunapee, including Mount Sunapee State Park Beach. Protection efforts have enabled Lake Sunapee to consistently be named one of the cleanest lakes in the state. In the west of the town is the ski area Mount Sunapee Resort as well as the beautiful Mount Sunapee State Park. The town is bout 38 square miles is size and includes the village of Blodgett Landing.

Situated at the south end of Lake Sunapee, this town has gone through numerous name changes. It started in 1753 as "Dantzic", after a Baltic seaport. The town was finally incorporated as "Newbury" in 1837.
